How to use the Question Widget

The question widget is a way for you to embed the question submission form on one or more of your own web pages.

You can see an example of the embedded form here: https://askhelp.extension.org/widget-demo/

This is an alternative to users having to go to the front page of Ask Extension to ask their questions. Additionally, widgets are associated with a specific group, so any questions submitted to a widget are routed directly to your Ask Extension group.

You can embed a widget on any web page you like by embedding the widget code you get from the “Embed Widget” tab on your group’s configuration page in Ask Extension. To find this code, log in to Ask Extension and click the Profile link in the upper right-hand corner. Now you can click your Groups tab. You should see all of the groups you are a member of. Now click the name of the group whose widget code you would like to find. Finally, click the Embed Widget tab for that group and click the “Copy Widget Embed Code” button and paste the code into the page where you would like the form to appear.

The code is a simple iframe that can be added to any standard HTML page. You might need to work with your local IT support and ask them to embed the code for you.
